Grand Slam Patch

TripAdvisor is a travel website that assists customers in gathering travel information through user-generated content. The US based brand was looking for a cost effective marketing program to build awareness internationally as well as at home. ProVentures created a program that would be implemented at the three tennis Grand Slams played during the summer – French Open (Paris), Wimbledon (London) and US Open (New York). Instead of signing a deal with one player to wear a corporate patch on the player’s shirt, the concept called for signing multiple lower ranked players who were guaranteed to play a top player on one of the main show courts, thus obtaining guaranteed international television coverage. ProVentures would sign the players after determining the placement in the draw and the court where they were assigned to play. The success of the program led TripAdvisor to renew the program three times.
